Our philosophy is that design should follow function. Besides good design sense, one must have a perfect mastery of all associated web technology. Yes, it is possible for a site to be both beautiful and high performing!
The first step in a new project is to create what is commonly called personas. An application or a web site is used by many different users: clients, prospects, administrators, contributors... or hackers. For each user we describe his needs, navigation scenarios, priorities and constraints.
Product Back Log
Once we understood what your business is and who your users are, based on our expertise, detailled benchmarking and some magic, we can provide you with options and fill-up a global product back-log. We'll be able to answer questions like: Do I need a responsive design web site or a mobile version? Should I create a native application? Is it really a good idea to enable user comments? And, if yes, which solution: Facebook comments, CMS native comments, Disqus, BazaarVoice? Is infinite scroll is a good idea? And hundreds of other questions...
The first step to create a web site is not drawing or sketching pages. We need to analyze and create a content map. Based on the backlog and personas, we define content types and taxonomies. During this important phase each content is described as precisely as possible: fields, field types, cross-references, taxonomies. We also talk about SEO, contexts, analytics, and CMS.
The best way to create an incredible website or mobile application is to do it together! We sketch with you, during interactive and fun workshops, each single page of your site. We re-sketch again and again, compare versions, and sketch again, until everybody is satisfied and thinks we did the incredible website everybody got in mind.
Sketching is good, but we need to test our ideas against the most important people in a project: users. That's why we create interactive, clickable wireframes of each page. Wireframes respect proportions and content organisation, users can navigate trough menus and buttons. During these tests we can track wording problems, navigation difficulties, call to action elements visibility, etc…
One PSD per template
When master templates are done in grayscale, colorized and validated we'll process one clean, layered and annotated PSD for each template of the website. It's really important, from our point of view, to design each single page from the 404 to the homepage, each roll-over behavior and of course to test and test again.
Responsive is a trendy keyword. We see a lot of responsive examples all over the web. But what about real world projects with 50+ complex templates, e-commerce, transactional interfaces or apps? How about managing responsive images, video and accessibility for disabled people? Here comes our expertise and experience.
